Any mom's have a baby with a tongue tie? They're gonna clip my daughter's tongue and I'm so nervous…

my daughter had it. i shared in one of my.post she had hers clipped the day after she was born. omg shes doing great now and after a few hours but all the blood i was mad with everyone.

My son had a lip and a tongue tied we had tons of issues with insurance so he had it clipped super late he was 3 months it wasn't that bad to be honest he did get nipple confused and stopped taking a bottle and a pacifier expect a very hungry fussy baby since you won't be able to feed your baby a few hours prior to the procedure the procedure is super quick and you'll be able to go home right away

she cried for like 3 minutes which seemed like a lifetime to me. my husband was born.with one and his parents never got his cut so he wanted hers done so she wouldnt have speech.problems

@nwhite0823 nobody at the hospital caught hers, and the day we were supposed to go in to do it the doctors wife went into labor! Is there any medicine they give for afterwards?

My lactation nurse at the hospital caught hers, because of how she nursing. But no she didnt need any meds afterwards she took my boob and her bottle.just fine.

@lovingtheo my daughter will probably be around 2 months when they finally get it done. How long did it take your son to get back to normal?

He was fussy for a few days but Tylenol helped us a lot he still doesn't really take bottles

My son had it done when he was a few weeks old. He didn't seem to notice mins after. I was advised to massage under his tongue before very feeding the following weeks to prevent the ligament from growing back. a month the has passed now and was told it grew back 50-60%

@cuddlebugsmom I didn't know it could grow back😩 do they have to clip it again?

I asked them to but the pediatrician didn't think it was necessary and shouldn't cause speech problems etc. She did mention that she has clipped one baby 3 times before and it still grew back. I figured if he needs it down the road we will again

@cuddlebugsmom That's good that your son won't have to get it clipped again but 3 times?? That's crazy😱
