Court documents is the official license then the officiant then the reception . @sarahbellee,
I'm almost positive when we were going to have a big formal wedding before, we were instructed to get the license before the ceremony (if you have a ceremony) because the officiant doesn't do it. They just read the vows and marry you, but the formal marriage certificate is filled out and picked up at different times!

You would go to the same place that you would have a courthouse ceremony and you would fill out the application for marriage certificate :) You'd both sign paperwork and then it would be ready after a couple weeks. We did a courthouse wedding and had a dinner reception afterwards! but it was small because courthouse weddings usually can't really exceed 30 people or so, so we only had family. It was a lot of fun though and actually our courthouse wedding was so nice!
I didn't do shit after my courthouse wedding. We came home right after and carried on as normal 🤣 Hopefully you do something fun!

How does someone not believe in marriage? People get married all the time. And there are countless examples of successful marriages. If it's not something you want to do, that's fine. Say so.
