Tonight is going to be a long one. Hope is straining like crazy and nothing I do is helping her, she keeps waking herself up by straining and then gets frustrated and starts whinging which then means I pick her up to comfort her. I wish the doctors would listen, as i'm sorry, but this isn't normal! She strains like crazy, but then when she does have a poo, it's like water so I don't understand why she is straining so much! Had to put her over a towel earlier without a nappy on and massage her tummy to try and help her have a poo, which she did, but now she's back to straining again.
@daniluvsdis hope has been changed to lactose and gluten free milk due to allergies, the rest of the symptoms have stopped apart from that one!I put gripe water in her bottle and have tried colief and infacol too, neither seem to help! thank you for your advice though! xx
@nessie95, I ended up changing to comfort milk, used gripe water and gave him a few baths a day! The comfort milk really helped him!xx
@daniluvsdis that's the thing though, the majority of the time, when she has a poo, there's quite a bit of it, but she can go a few days so I try to massage her tummy daily to try and help her. xx
@nessie95, I was told when Harry was constipated but having tiny runny poos that sometimes a constipated poo can block the pipes but a tiny amount of liquid can squeeze past if they're straining so much! Xx
@chesscalouise2 no, not tried that one. problem is, it's not constipation because she's still having runny poos, but she still strains like there's no tomorrow! x
@chesscalouise2 yeah I have hun as recommended by the doctor, literally nothing works. x
how are you massaging her hun? they do say softly massage yor lo but u dont have to be that soft. try and make also bycicle moves with her legs. rub her tummy in circles .thenn press from left tummy towards belly button then right towards belly button. do each set 12 times and then u pick her both legs and pressem against her tummy. do this untill she farts. if she starts getting too upset while u do it .stop doing it and just have your hand placed on her tummy(break time) also having a dummy while doing this helps soo much as they relax and still use their muscles through the sucking x
@nessie95, I gave the gripe water to him just from a syringe! It seem to warm his tummy up, it helped us! Every baby is different though! Poor thing! I feel your pain it was horrendous!
At one point we ended up at the Drs and he gave us lactulose which also helped!xx
