Question on nursing? I am going back to work 2 weeks after the baby is here maybe sooner I want to nurse but then again I know it's gonna be tough working all day and he's going into his big brothers private school. So if you give formula and breastmilk does it cause any bad effects on the baby? I don't wanna upset him. I wanted to start him on the gentlease right from the start that's what I did with my first and we had no problems but I was wondering about if I should use the newborn formula instead first or those who have tried the nutrimigen formula if that's upset your baby while breastfeeding as well.

I went back and forth with no problem. I wouldn't give baby nutramigen. That's a special hypoallergenic formula. Not to mention is $30+ a can. You want something closer to BM and nutramigen isn't it. I didn't use the newborn just the gentlease. If you're able to pump at work you should have no problem pumping for the next day what baby will get and won't have to supplement.

I used breastmilk and gentle ease I the beginning too. Just pump as much as you can till you go back to work and get a little stash going. Then pump at work to keep up your milk and your stash. Formula is ok but your milk is the best.

Enfamil has a formula that closely mimics breastmilk for supplementing. I exclusively pumped and used Enfamil gentle ease from the start and it worked great. My ped even said it was okay to put them in the same bottle and feed it to her. Good luck!
