Depends I think I of course don't put a lot on my baby that's it's thick on her of course but it's up too you my baby seems like she breaths better at night I think the article might of been missing details to it ..my mom my grandparents have been doing it for a long time I hope your baby gets better :)

@babyhulk08, I read an article about vaporub that scared me a few months ago. Supposedly a baby dies from it, it apparently swells their airwaves if they are too small but my sister told me the same thing, she said it helped when her little one was sick

Did you try putting warm compress on his chest and do you leave the humidifier on all night close to him ? I'm giving my baby vitamin drops a family member told me about it so far it's working for her and lots of changing if baby is wet on chest and before she goes to sleep I put vaporub on her chest back and feet and saline nasal spray helped all her buggies to clear hope this helped good luck and hopefully he gets better my baby is thank god :)
