How soon did everyone start to introduced milk to their child? I know formula is given until they are a year of age. I just wanted to see how many moms gave their child like an oz of regular milk mixed with formula or gave them a few sips of their glass of milk ect and at what age. I'm worried WIC is going to pretty much give her regular milk and cut her off formula when she turns one and I don't want to just give her a bottle of regular milk right away at that time. So I was thinking of letting her have a few sips of my milk every now and then and slowly introducing an oz of milk mixed with her formula when she is 10 and a half/11 months.

I did at 11 months. I slowly introduced it by weekly. He would drink 8 oz so first week he got 6 oz of formula and 2 oz of regular milk. Mixed. And then next week he got 4 oz of each and so on. So by one he was on milk. But to be honest he would pick milk over formula any day. My nephew started to get introduced milk at 6 months because my brother in law didn't want to pay for it. And he is fine. Both didn't have tummy problems

My pediatrician said to wait until 12 months , but honestly I don't see the harm of introducing at 11 months like transitioning. I know a lot of other moms that have . Even my mom said I was on cows milk at 10 months. I feel like if you just do a little bit to make sure there's no reaction it will be fine. A lot of kids start weaning themselves when they are 11 months anyway they are breastfed

A sip here and there won't hurt. They just don't want you replacing meals.
