You might talk to your doctor about colic. Look up Purple Crying. My son is colic. It's maddening but it will eventually go away around 12 weeks or so.

On Friday my son cried from 9a - 2p with only a handful of 30 min naps scattered throughout. That was our worst day yet and it was extremely maddening. It's hard but doesn't last forever.

He could be going through a growth spurt or like she said purple crying. Your not doing anything wrong just take a deep breath and just keep doing what your doing my daughter would cry every night from 2:30am-5 and I couldn't figure out what was wrong until I heard about the "witching hour"sounds creepy I know purple crying sounds better than that lol but it will pass trust me.
