So I want to breastfeed but everyone I've talked to got me all scared now saying my nipples will crack!. That there is some infection you get from the saliva sitting on your nipples or whatever, talking bout boobs getting engorged??? Whatever that means!!. Now I'm like yoooo Idk about all this!. I don't want my damn nipples to fall off. Got me fuuuckkk up. 🙁 someone ease my mind cuz I'm not prepared for this.
Of course it's definitely not that bad lol and it creates an amazing bond! This app is great and full of support never hesitate to ask for help or advice :)
@mrscruz0530, thank you! That really really helps. Now it doesn't sound as scary. I'm glad I found this app. Everyone here is amazing, very helpful!.
They are trying to scare you! I will be honest the beginning can be painful but it's all worth it. My nipples did hurt initially because my daughter wasn't latching properly but after we fixed that I was fine. You can get a bit engorged but you can hand release and use warm washcloths and feed as often as possible until you supply regulates or you can pump if it's that bad. My daughter and I just hit 10 months exclusively breastfeeding amd trust me I wouldn't change it and it doesn't hurt! You got this mama our bodies were made for this trust your body and trust your baby it will all work out 😊
@jacesterlingsmommy, oh that doesn't sound so bad, jezz I think they were just trying to scare me. Ughhh what a relief.
It when your breasts are full of milk. They get rock hard, may leak(mine did) and are tender. All you have to do is nurse or pump and it goes away once they're emptied. I'd pump when I got engorged and I'd be better in 15 minutes and have 10-12 oz of milk to store!
@madismommy, okay the bond is really why I wanted to breastfeed and I don't trust formula. So that too. But that helps me not freak out so much. The pain will be worth it for my little blessing.
@jacesterlingsmommy, okay well thank you. But what about engorged? What does that mean?. Sounds fucking painful.
@bryannaleann I was scared to breastfeed my baby for the same exact reason .. I'm 2 months into breastfeeding now and I don't regret it at all.. It created a great bond for me and my baby and its so much easier !! I'm not gonna lie.. My nipped hurt really bad at some times but I wouldn't quit breastfeeding.. My nipped only got cracked one time ! and that was when I first started ... It gets better:) Try it you just might like it:)
They're just scaring you. Yes there's things that could happen but probably not and your nipples won't fall off. lol
@jacesterlingsmommy, okay so it doesn't happen to everyone??? That eases my stress a little.
