I'm aware of risks, but I'm also just as aware of how to care for and keep a tattoo cleaned. I'm just curious of clogged ducts is a thing for a chest tattoo and things a long those lines... its a small tattoo. @brownsugarluv @ciraclesmiracle
and that's a good point ! I didn't think of his nails clipping it @kambam
@courtney.emond, I'm not implying that you're at risk of contracting something from dirty needles. A tattoo opens your skin, which is your first line of defense from bacteria. If you happen to contract an infection and you have to take antibiotics you may have to discontinue breastfeeding. If that's a risk you're willing to take, then go for it! I'm not trying to tell you that it's wrong to get a tattoo--it's your choice--I'm merely trying to let you know that there may be risks you were not aware of that could affect your breastfeeding.
I'm not saying you should or shouldn't. The only person who can make that choice is the artist.
I simply said you can talk to your artist about any concerns you have. I'm sure it's not the first time he's dealt with this situation, considering his nationally accredited work.
I'm not looking for anything to convince or not convince. I am getting the tattoo. I simply want to know PERSONAL experience with a chest tattoo and breastfeeding such as healing and what not.
I think @ciraclesmiracle, was trying to say the risk of infection is higher because of your lower immunity.
Maybe talk to your artist and see if he can steer you on the right direction.
I'm not asking about infection... I have 5 tattoos and my artist is a nationally recognized for his work and clean shop. I know how to keep infection away. I'm only wanting to know about the experience.
