I started buying clothes after the 1st trimester. I bought some collectively, along with diapers. I had my baby shower at 32 weeks and got pretty much everything I needed. I bought everything I didn't have after that!

it's never to early to start buying.. better to be ahead then to wait and not get everything you need at the baby shower and have to shop 8 months in..

not to mention everyone usually buys cloths and or diapers for baby showers so get ahead on the big stiff

Before you know the gender you can buy diapers, wipes, hygiene products and bottles. I chose a diaper bag that fits my style. Not pink or blue etc. After you know the gender you can figure out what nursery theme you want and so on.

If your having a baby shower I'd wait until after that. Then you can see what you don't have and need.

I started buying the weekend I found out! Lol. I picked brown blankets that I thought were cute and cuddled, got the crib and dresser and as the months went buy i stocked up on diapers and wipes and got more bigger things for him like high chair and all his poppy pillow car seat and stroller and then when we found out sex we started getting decoration. It was so nice cuz I spread it all out and didn't get overwhelmed about not having things when he arrived and I didn't have to buy diapers until he was 6 months old!! My sister gave my coupons and we got diapers cheap!

Thank you ladies!!! That's what I figured I would do (spread it out) as not to overwhelm my husband and I as we get further along. I found a crib that turns into a toddler bed and a matching changing table for $80! I'm not against second hand at all!
