My labor was rough. I had the epidural and was pushing for 2 hours straight. I felt it all, I say my epidural wore off but everyone says it didn't that I just felt the pressure. After 2 hours of pushing I delivered a happy healthy baby boy. They placed him on his back on my chest and he started peeing everywhere lol. He almost got my mouth and his lol. After baby was out they waited on the placenta to come out and it wouldn't. The midwife pushed and pushed on my stomach to try to get it to move down, she even smashed baby's foot as he was laying on my chest to try to get the placenta out. Then as they mashed on my tummy blood would just shoot out everywhere with so much pressure. Large blood clots were coming out too. After their failed attempts to get my placenta out the midwife said she had to reach in with her hand and scrape inside my uterus. I knew it would hurt but nothing prepared me for the pain I was about to endure, it was absolutely the most painful thing I've ever felt. I was screaming in agony and my mom and fiancé said she was in up to her elbow. No success, she did it a second time and no success again, I started losing more and more blood. Doctor was called in and they told me I was having postpartum hemorrhage and that I would need surgery to get the bleeding to stop. I was advised that they didn't know what they were dealing with exactly and it would be an exploratory surgery and there is a chance I would have to have a hysterectomy if they couldn't stop the bleeding any other way. I was taken in to surgery for a DNC and the doctor performing the surgery told me I would be put completely under and I was glad cause I couldn't imagine feeling any more pain. Then the anesthesiologist came in and administered a higher dose of epidural and he snapped at me for asking why I was getting another epidural dose if I was supposed to be put under, his response "did I tell you that??? no so why would you think that!" They took me back and Doctor right away started reaching in and I screamed that I could feel that. finally the anesthesiologist got irritated and knocked me out completely. I woke up in pain and confused. The doctor came and told me a normal delivery blood loss should be no more than 500ml. I was informed I lost 2,500 and would need a blood transfusion. I went ahead and received 2 units. I got swollen as hell. After what I went through I'm seriously doubting I'll have another baby, my experience was a rough one to say the least. I thank God baby and I are well regardless of what I endured
