How long after birth did you wait to take a bath? I was told to wait until 6 weeks because of risk for infection but I'm seeing other friends that are recently postpartum already taking baths. I want a hot bath too dang it!

Yeah I had a vaginal delivery with no stitches and had a bath the same day
My dr just told me to no let the soap touch down their that's it i would shower everyday if I was able too
I wasn't told no bath, I had my daughter natural (not sure if it's different if you had an epidural) but I did get a few stitches and they never said not to.
C section or vaginal delivery? Do you have stitches if it was vaginal?
I was told no swimming or jacuzzis due to risk of infection but nothing about baths. Hope I helped😊
After my epidural wore off the nurses at my hospital made me a warm bath twice within the first 24 hours. I was never told not to take a bath I was just told not too much soap. About 2 weeks pp I attempted to take a bath at home, but the bath tub was much deeper at home than at the hospital so it was painful to get out of the bath tub for me.
@valrocks, I'm not in pain at all I just really enjoy taking a bath to relax. I miss it. And then my husband got me bath bombs for Christmas which made me want to take a bath even more! 😂
Yeah. You're supposed to wait. Use a heating pad if you need to
I had stitches with my first two and I was still able to take baths... actually they told me to take baths to help with the soreness after delivery. I think you're good.
