seriously don't see the problem with a quarter of a rusk! if the health visitor said you can and you feel it's eight for lucy then do it. don't listen to anyone but yourself. each child is different which really should be evident. were all different. this is what I used to tell my parents at work (I'm a nursery nurse) when they would ask why their child isn't doing the same as their friends. they'll do things at different stages. carry on doing what you're doing hun noone knows lucy like you do x

Thanks Mrs! My little ones bottles haven't changed throughout the day either, she's always been a hungry baby and that quarter of a rusk she gets at nights makes the biggest difference! It's not like I'm shoving a 3 course meal down my babies neck! Xx

I started weaning my LO at 12 weeks because I felt like he was ready,he has a bit of porridge and rusk a day and he sleeps all through the night and he hasn't changed his bottles through the day he's just a hungry baby ☺ I agree dont listen to others you do what you feel is right for you little one ☺ your obviously doing a great job x

Exactly .. if I had any issue with my daughter and her feeding I would have stopped but I haven't! No one has the right to comment on anyone else's parenting and if it works for you then who is anyone to judge! X

I hate hate hate mum shamers! It's no one else fuxking business what you do! It's not like your force feeding her a bag of Chips and a bottle of cider on the side 😑 It's all trial and error being a parent I'm infuriated for you about her comments above!

I have a little sister at 2 and she was fed from 9 weeks with no issues therefore I don't see the problem x

I couldn't agree more @holliesinead, my daughter is happier in herself since I have been giving her the rusk so why the hell should I not! Us as mums know our own children best and I will continue what I'm doing as it works both me and my little girl xx

May I also add my youngest brother was fed from 6 weeks old! Is he crippled over in pain or have any stomach issues? No he bloody doesn't x

Please don't listen to anyone telling what you should and shouldn't be doing with YOUR child I was mum shamed a while ago for feeding my son to early and then the other day for letting him eat ONE of my wotsits! Nothing infuriates me more than people telling a mother how and what she should be doing if you think she needs a rusk give her he bloody rusk! I stand by saying fuck Anything a midwife tells you what and what not to do you are the mother no one else ✊🏻

It's done wonders for Lucy .. she seems a much happier wee lady in herself lol, hopfully your wee one gives in for you soon and starts sleeping that bit longer lol, Lucy was waking up full of smiles thinking it was playtime when she was getting up in the night, but now she's great! @sinlou93, xx

Comment on the way you are raising your child? Nope. Educating you on the dangers that you are placing your child at yes! Dangers your placing others at by saying it's acceptable yes! Talking down to you no! Everyone on here knows I don't do that. But when there are children and adults out there like me who cannot eat normal foods because our parents put things like alcohol or weaned up before 12 weeks and later in life we are in crippling pain then yeah I'm gonna tell you what you are opening your child up to. What I didn't add was that your very selfish thinking of your sleep before your child's health. He'll go the whole hog and give her a 4 course meal every day when she starts going through her 16 week growth spurt where they ARE MEANT to feed feed feed like a newborn. Only had this discussion last week with a health professional/ that's what they are meant to do. So by bypassing that signal what do u think your baby will be getting in a rusk? Not the nutritional needs it is asking for. Giving a rusk is one thing, saying it's to help her sleep well..... my baby is not much younger than yours and I wouldn't dream of it in a million years. God my parents used to chain smoke with me in the car would we all do that now? Nope!

Sorry but I don't know who you think you are trying to speak down to me and advise me on how to raise my child! I've spoken to my health visitor in regards to giving my daughter rusk not that it's any of your business to be quite honest, so in future keep your opinions to yourself if you wouldn't mind, your no different from the rest of us, as I can see you have 5 children which would indicate that you surely know that not every child is the same, so don't dare comment on the way I am raising my child, it works for us and that's that! @suzie80,

11 week olds are meant to be awake and feed through the night that's normal. All my children were the same. There up to take calories they need over a 24 hour period. If there it's normally because thy havent taken in enough during the day to allow them to go longer. Earlier weaning that early can cause food allergies later and is so hard on there stomachs. She's going the night because your making her work hard to break that down. They don't even have the adequate enzymes to break down gluten properly at that age. Later in life she could become gluten intolerant. Lining her tummy with anything but milk at that sort of age is asking for trouble for her later not to mention gastrointestinal issues at any point. Whilst some early weaning at 4-6 months can be ok 11 weeks is shocking! Sorry but the health visitor would have a pink fit if she knew and it's not great bragging how to get baby to sleep that way when other young mums will follow suit and just cos your baby hasn't landed in hospital from the crap that's in risks yet doesn't mean someone else's won't!

Me lol .. she was up constantly through the night so she gets a quarter of a rusk and I make it like a yoghurt consistency and it's done her the world of good, now the both of us are getting a better sleep through the night and she's a happier baby for it☺️ @suzie80,
