I keep seeing all these mothers posting their #normalizebreastfeeding photos, and I think it's great. After battling myself for a week, I've decided I wanted to share Charlee Ann's feeding journey...
We've never shared that amazing bond so many women who breastfeed talk about.
She spent the first 54 days of her life in the NICU, after the first week I was able to hold her for the very first time. And she was given a NG Tube a few days later. I pumped every single day for her stay in the hospital, giving her all the breast milk I could until my supply finally ran out. After those 3 months, we came home from the hospital and she was finally able to come off the tube, but by then she was drinking formula solely.
Today at almost 6 months Charlee struggles to gain weight, she has really bad reflux and is in the 1% weight percentile. But she is the happiest baby I've ever seen, and she has gotten to every single milestone thus far, beautifully!
So please let's recognize that #fedisbest ! #nicusurvivor #mybabyisafighter #feedingawareness #momlife
