So originally I was going to give birth in a hospital with the same OB I had as my daughter. A friend of mine who has the same insurance as me is seeing a midwife. She explained to me and instantly loved how it sounded. Has anyone gone through a midwife how was the experience ? Would you choose that option over the regular OB? Also if you had a water birth how was that? I just want as much info as possible! Thanks :) I'm 16 weeks by the way and wanting to switch asap. Also what is a "centering" class/group that you get with a midwife ?

I had an ob with my 1st and a midwife with my 2nd. I loved both but the midwife was more personal. she knew everything about me. either she had a good memory, wrote good notes or just cared that much.

I had an ob with my all 3 of mine and with number 4 I am going midwife and opting for a birthing center. I love it so far.. much more personalable.. and also knowing she is going to be the one to deliver is much more mind calming for me.. non of my obs delivered.. also some stranger I never met. not that it mattered in the heat of the moment.. but I did not care about what I wanted out of the birth only what they saw fit.
