Any advice for getting a baby to sleep at night and at nap time? I don't really mind getting up to nurse her in the middle of the night, but it'd be nice to have some down time during the day and especially before bed! My little night owl is 6 months old.
@ciraclesmiracle, ooh, I'll try that too. She's getting a jumperoo for Christmas. And luckily my husband helps at night before bed too...he's a night owl and I'm not.
Maybe add some more activity/stimulation during the day to wear him out, like @valrocks, said? Add an extra walk or try some new games/stories to try and tire her out? Sounds brutal for you! I know it was tough for me when my son was staying up so late. It was hard for me to stay awake!
The other issue is that she has a sensitive tummy, so sometimes tummy aches keep her from sleeping. :/
@ciraclesmiracle, for nightly routine I usually turn down the lights in her room, turn on her noise machine, change her diaper and put on pajamas, and nurse her to sleep. Lately she either won't nurse to sleep or she becomes wide awake right after. Maybe I'll try rocking or reading or singing with her though.
We're having the same issues. We were on a strict routine since day one and that means nothing now. We have to completely ware him out and even still he doesn't always sleep thru like he used to.
Do you have a nightly routine? Babies thrive on structure, so establishing a routine where you do the same things in the same order before sleep helps them to figure out what comes next (sleep!). It can be super simple things like diaper change, rock/read a book/sing a song and lay her down. This helped me a lot with my son. He was up soooo late and I started a routine and then moved it a little earlier each night and now he's asleep by about 8:30-8:45 each night
Jumperoo will be great!!! I wish my husband could help a little more. As soon as he finishes dinner it's lights out 😴
