I find it irritating that people moan about their OH dont help, sick of doing it all alone.... were their mum... were made to do this! Just be thankful they are still around.... as this day and age not many do stick around...☺

I'm a Muslim and live by the Quran so we're not far off in our views at all. I agree I took it wrong, as though you meant I should be grateful to him for sticking around. I agree I am grateful my child has a father who is providing for him and is here for him. I also believe that men and women have separate roles. I'm grateful to my Lord that I can be a homemaker mother and wife with no pressures. However in my religion there is no aspect that just because a man works he doesn't have to do his part in the house. That old fashioned view is part of culture and I get quite annoyed when I hear that mentality because I grew up in a household where a woman's role was simply mother and she got no help whatsoever, even though she was doing so much more, and she was supposed to be grateful for having a man in her life. I won't be grateful for someone who isn't a partner. That's all. A man must pull his own weight.

Amen to that!... my point was just for staters if your OH is still around, just be thankful for that then everything else after.... im thankful for my life, food water heat lights toilet roll hair brush..... the very shoes i walk in.... my OH helps out of course! i have 3 kids with him.... he just doesnt do as much as me, i dont expect him to and because i have things under control and maintained although busy, im not moaning about him not helping me.... we bith have different roles as a man and as a woman. I also live by the Bible.... and its a very old fashion way to live.... xxx

This wasnt directly to anyone. i do apologise i think i could have worded it better.... i wasnt saying we should count ourself lucky they are around and dont do anything... i was simply saying just be thankful they are just there for starters as a lot of dads are not around..... I also think that me and my kids dad infact men and women in general have different roles, not that he shouldnt do anything at all.. but do his role... i breast fed my first 2 fully until about 1 and half and currently breastfeeding my 10 week old... my OH cant do that... i was just writing a status thats all...

Yeah I have to disagree, I don't think we should have to count ourselves lucky they're still around... it shouldn't be like that. What I find irritating is that people moan about their other halves constantly then contradict themselves planning more babies and pretending everything is perfect when it's not. If my other half didn't pull his finger out I'd tell him where to go, we made a baby together and he should help out just as much as I do. Yeah I'm my sons mother but that doesn't mean his father is getting away with fuck all. And I'm not just counting myself lucky we're together... if he didn't wanna be with me he wouldn't be and vice versa, that's not lucky. That's love

Sorry, in my opinion just as were their mum, my OH is their dad. He should be pulling his own weight. I'm not going to give him credit for just sticking around! I didn't marry him to just stick around, I married him to be my partner and do his half. In fact there's no point of him "sticking around" if he's no help and more of a hindrance.
