The Full Term Debate: I hear many medical professionals say full term is 38 weeks, but I also hear some say 37. I know it's just a one week difference, but which one is it? I don't want to walk around at 37 weeks saying I'm full term and I end up sounding like a fool lol

@nevahsatisfied I was thinking that too because there has been way too many answers, but I think 39 would make sense. And maybe some babies get finished baking early at 37-38 weeks lol

I was told by my obgyn that full term is 37 weeks. Perhaps it varies by doctor.

Full term pregnancies

Are doctors really still telling people that 37-38 weeks is full term???? ACOG and SMFM both define full term as 39-40 weeks. 37-38 is term. 41-32 is late term. Babies born at 37+ weeks are almost always just fine but there are clearly researched benefits to going to 39-40.

babybump_user No one is saying it isn't Thier decision or judging anyone that would chose to go earlier.

My dr considers 37 weeks full term & says that the baby is ok to come anytime after 37 weeks so I’m listening to her 🤷🏼‍♀️
