Okay momma's, I'm looking for some advice.(This is going to be long) I have been breastfeeding my daughter since birth(she's almost a month and a half old.), a week ago we started to introduce a bottle of breast milk because my SO wanted to get the chance to bond when he was home. I was producing enough milk that pumping didn't effect my daughter still strictly breastfeeding during the day. I was able to make sure my SO had one three ounce bottle every night before bed. To say the least my living situation has been pretty stressful and it's starting to cause my milk supply to start to dry up over the last few days. It's not to horrible but I can tell my daughter is effected by it. During the day she will really struggle to fall asleep because she is so hungry but I have no milk. My SO suggested we try to supplement in the meantime so I can continue to pump and build my supply and feel comfortable she is being fed enough at the same time. I'm open to the idea but have no idea where to start formula wise with my little girl having only ever had breastmilk. And considering I only plan to use it for a short time I want her transition to be as smooth as possible. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome mommas!
@pambays I've tried everything :( my main concern is just the stress causing me to dry up. Hence wanting to supplement for the moment so I can focus on pumping and building my supply back up without the added stress that my little girl isn't getting enough food from me.
agreed, but pumping can help increase your supply, your body doesn't know the diffrence between baby and pump. it feel demand it'll try to supply. the stress is a huge factor though. are you trying supplements? like for you. prenatals mother milk tea. oatmeal. stuff like that is supposed to help A LOT
update: I need help. I don't know what to do.
I feel like I'm failing my daughter. I had such a great milk supply up until about a week ago and I started producing less and less. And now I am lucky to get 3 ounces from both sides. My daughter will start to eat and then pull off and scream and she just screamed so much that she threw up because she is hungry. I've been nursing her all day. I don't want to switch to formula and I'm afraid I might have to. What else can I do to fix my supply.
I hate my generation sometimes ?
Today was my nieces baby shower, which went great. She got so much which amazing since she's been working 2 jobs trying to save up for the unpaid leave she'll have to take from work. Anyways I was talking to one of the ladies there since my son and her daughter were playing together. I asked her what her daughters name was, she said it was Layla. I told her that's a really pretty name and asked her if she was a Clapton fan and if she was named after the song. Th...
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
When can I start giving my son regular milk? He turns 10 months in 2 days. I bought unsweetened almond milk yesterday so he can try. Would that be okay? I’m lowkey tired of him on formula but I mean he’s still a baby lol.
So now that I have my test strips when do I start testing! I am on day 2 of af today and it lasts about 3-4 days normally. I have about a 26-27 day cycle. Any help would be very appreciated thank you!!😀
definitely supplement for baby girl! I am having a few issues but my supply is finally picking up, but we supplement a few ounces here and there. I think the stress is a ginormous factor though.
