So for almost a week my daughter has not been able to hold down any breast milk. I've gotten my supply back it's not great but it's something. She won't drink freshly pumped milk or milk that I've had stored in the freezer. On Friday I contacted a woman whose a donor that a good friend recommended and her kids have drank this woman's milk also. Yesterday I met up with the woman and purchased milk Long and behold my daughter is throwing that up too. I've been consistent and continue to give her the breast milk but she is always throwing it up. I'm literally feeding her all day cause she can't hold anything down. Then I always get to the point toward the end of the day where I have to end up giving her formula so she and I can finally rest after a long day of trying to get her to keep down breast milk. She can keep down formula she won't ever spit it up nor throw it up . I'm so confused worried and frustrated that she isn't able to keep any breast milk down. We have an appointment on Thursday and I know doctors don't know it all about breast milk but I'm hoping she can help me figure out what's wrong or lead me to someone who can help.

weird. have u talked to her Dr? there is a muscle in their stomach that can over grow. skylers Dr thought that was what was happening to her but turned out it wasn't. it's ruled out by an ultrasound.

@nurseriri, I hope that's the case cause I can deal with that and I know she can over come that too

@clang92, I've done that and I also use dr brown bottles. She keeps down formula no problem though reason why I'm so confused.

Sounds like acid reflux more than likely. Sorry love. But you go to peds soon so she would confirm or not. @amaperalta03

When Ethan was younger he would throw up so badly it made me nervous. But as a nurse and also a former ped nurse once she's having adequate diaper and poops you shouldn't be worried. I had spoken to dr cause I thought he had acid reflux but he was never fussy and he was having adequate dirty diaper so I stuck with the breast feeding. And almost a year of ebf I glad I never gave in to formula. But then again every baby is different and I always recommend speaking to your pediatrician. Is she crying and fussy right before throwing/spitting up? Know how stressful it must be. @amaperalta03

@amaperalta03, maybe it's something you are consuming, even the donor, that's not found in formula. Breastfed babies get everything we eat, too. I'm allergic to gluten and I know babies/kids can vomit with it when ingested if they're sensitive to it. Narrow down everything if possible. She's def not able to digest something. Poor baby :(

@mommy763, she's been just throwing up the breast milk but keeping down formula. And at times she does projectile vomit if not she's just throwing it up

it would be projectile vomiting though like a fountain , I think that is the most clear sign if she's just spitting up a lot it may just be reflux @amaperalta03

both @amaperalta03 usually it happens in first born boys, but I have met other moms in which it happened in second borns and girls

my son did the same and he actually needed surgery to fix a narrow opening in his stomach. It is probably not be as serious. but he would do the same, eat and vomit basically all of the milk and he was always so hungry because he couldn't keep if down @amaperalta03
