i had my daughter in the nicu but i always stayed there with her no matter what and i just went home to get extra clothes and my stuff and i showered there while i was showering and stuff my husband stayed in the room with her

my baby girl was in nicu for a few days and so was my niece. they were born a few days apart and both preemies. both transitions were fine... but my cousin took more precaution with having family and friends over since my niece was in nicu for so long
