Figured it was time to share my birth story. Not a very exciting one :(

On November 11th, I was having cramps and back aches. even though I wasn't feeling up to it, my boyfriend and I went to pizza hut for dinner. At 8:30 pm I called my on call doctor and asked what I should do. He told me to come in just to get checked. The day before I was only 1 cm dilated. We arrived to the hospital and got up to triage at 10 pm because I had to get stuff ready and put in the car, total procrastination. When I arrived they hooked me up to the machine for half an hour and then i got checked, I was 1.5 cm dilated and they had me walk the halls for an hour. After my hour of walking was finally over, they hooked me up to the machine and then checked me 15 mins later. I was 2.5 and they admitted me. At 5 cm (8:30 am) they broke my water.

I labored until I got to 7.5 cm and couldn't handle the contractions anymore and gave in and got the epidural. Every hour or two after that i could start feeling the pain of the contractions again. I got to 8 and stalled out so they started pitocin.

By time I got to 10 I practice pushed for a good 1.5 to 2 hours and her head wasn't moving down at all and her head started to swell. They decided itd be best to do a csection because my pushes weren't helping any and i had been up for more than 48 hours and was just exhausted.

Because I had the epidural and it wasn't working anymore, they wanted to do a spinal block. When they got done with that they laid me down and as soon as I laid down, my fingers started to go numb. Within 30 seconds of that I couldn't breathe or talk or even squeeze the anesthesiologists fingers like she had asked me to. Only thing I could do was move my eyes. They decided to put me under. I was totally freaked out and thought I was going to die. When they woke me, the first thing I asked about was Maddie and where she was. I couldn't sleep the whole next day because I thought that if I closed my eyes that I wouldn't wake back up.

I used to want 4 kids, now I'm not so sure.
