I checked my son temperature in his rectum it was 99.6 but I checked under his armpit it's 96.4…

you only have to worry when the temp is over 100.2 if it's over that then its a fever

you're good @jazmin805 ! I Just looked it up and the fever for a newborn is 100.3 but my doctor told me I should take my baby to the hospital if it gets to 100.2 so that's what I go by:)

Rectal temperature is always the most accurate but it is not considered a fever till 100.2 rectal temp. Even then it's low grade fever and they will not admit baby to the ER unless it reaches 105.0℉.

Rectum is more accurate. And I took my 5 month old in yesterday when hers hit 102.2 and while we were here it hit 103.3 but it's gone now. I would take him in if its at like 101

fever at 100.4 is a small fever that's what my aunt told me and she is a rn for a children's hospital
