Hi y'all. I'm really curious. I want to do an IVF my husband wants me to do it too. I want to know now it feels and what I would have to do. I would like to know more about it. Please let me know. Thank you.
I had no choice because my husband had cancer, and we had to freeze his sperm (surgically took it from him) before he went thru radiation. I had over a year of shots (6 a day sometimes) and only have 3 healthy embryos. That's 3 tries at pregnancy. I just got my first embryo transferred on Monday, and I find out if it worked next week. IVF is super hard on your body. I've gained 26 lbs and it wouldn't go down, no matter how much I dieted and exercised. But unsuperficially, you also go through major hormonal changes. I cry and lash out a lot, I get depressed and fatigued, my face is super splotchy now. I'll have to get it lazered after I'm done having kids. It costs up to $20k the first time, and goes down every time after that. Took me 5 times to get 3 healthy embryos. But I opted to have genetic testing so I wouldn't have to go through miscarriages. I'm 36 and had limited sperm, so I felt gen. testing was necessary for us personally. Good luck!
What's medi-cal? Like a medical card/govt insurance? If so they won't cover anything fertility wise. And a lot of private insurances won't cover it or won't cover all of it. @mommytobe2317 and I'm sure a lot of it hurts lol there's lots of shots and medicine involved. And a lot of doctors won't do it unless you've tried EVERYTHING else.
