mine was the same as @allison.anne my baby latched right away. the midwife turned to tell me to see if she would latch and she was already latched and sucking lmoa. it shocked my midwife and nurse-midwife

My son took a while to get it. I almost gave up cuz I was nervous he wasn't getting enough milk. After a week of difficulty he started doing great.

When they placed my daughter on my chest she tried latching right away..so luckily it was easy.

Tips:: Be patient..it may not happen right away. Also take advantage of the lactation consultants at the hospital. They will give you some great tips!

It took my daughter hours to get her first proper feed, although it is very hard to say given how milk you get at first. No advise though, I have no idea how I could possibly have made it better!

I did. it was about 20 minutes after birth, I just put him on and he latched. both mine did immediately. I laid him across my chest
