Help.
My son has been throwing up from crying so hard when I put him to bed. I do the Ferber method. I let him cry for five minutes and go and console him. He's thrown up on me three times and just threw up down the side of his crib onto the toddler bed that's in a box underneath. What can I do? I know it's a way of controlling the situation for him.
@jamiere, I'll try that! He also has started smacking his own head on the floor when he doesn't get his way 🙄 this child.
@itsjasmine, @yourmodernmomma @babynessa @jamiere this has been over a span of weeks. Sorry, I didn't mean he threw up that much today!
My son used to do that. I had to quit putting him to bed right after feeding. Let him digest a lil. My son would mostly do it because he was upset I left him alone in the bed. The only thing that stopped it was by putting him in his crib and pretending to fall asleep on the outside with a blanket on the side. He would eventually fall asleep and I would sneak out. He finally gained trust that I was never too far away and would come in as soon as he woke up. I would do this every time I put him back to sleep even. After about a wk or so he finally stopped. Now we are battling the throw up after eating vegetables. He just indices vomiting whenever he doesn't like something. Lil twerp. Lol
Sounds like he's sick. I would check his temperature and take him a nice warm bath. Maybe try some Tylenol and some cuddles.
Sounds like he might be crying for a reason. Check for a temperature, signs of discomfort. Anything.
I understand, my son would do this daily for wks with me, to the pt he cried so hard he threw up and started choking when he was an infant and I had to turn him over and pat his back to clear his airway. It went on for months with us. I was so scared after that incident I stop trying for a lil while. I let him stay in my bed for awhile and when I tried again when he was older he started throwing up again. He could possibly be like my son and be so upset he cries so hard he throws up. It took the method mentioned before to get him to stop doing this at bed time. Now we are battling it at 4 again with vegetables. Every kid is different but this is just our experience and not totally uncommon. May be what you are going through as well. Doesn't hurt to try. Wish I would have stuck by my guns cause my son is 4 and still crawls in our bed.
