So I had my 2 week pp checkup with my OB today and we discussed birth control options. I never really wanted birth control before (and still don't want it) because when I was TTC it took me 1.5 years the first time and 1 year the second time to actually conceive. Now I do understand the importance of waiting at least a year and since I'll probably end up needing a csection again I don't want to rush my body so I am willing to let go of my fear of birth control and get on something. I'm not the best at remembering to take medicine every day but the pills seem the least scariest of options and I'd try my best to remember by setting a reminder on my phone. What birth control do you recommend and why?

mirena is what I'm on and I love it. it doesn't affect your fertility like some of the other birth controls. it stops periods I only have spotting and I haven't had a period in over a year. it's gotten the top pick for the highest effective birth control. I get mild cramping and spotting as a side affect. you can get it removed whenever you want and get pregnant that day. it good for five years. the picture is the mirena.

also you can check it whenever you want to make sure it's still in place. and the string that's attach to the mirena they curl up so it's not hanging out like it shows in the picture. and all that you have to do to check it is either you or your SO put their fingers up there and feel it so you can check it at home whenever you want. my sister has had it for 11years no baby and I know a few other women who have it and recommend it 100%.

My husband and I want more kids in the future but obviously wanted to give my body a break. I was worried about the effects of birth control as well and me and my husband decided to just use condoms. They are pretty effective if you use them correctly, and the least invasive. We used them before we got pregnant never had any issues or surprise pregnancy. But when we stopped using them, we got pregnant like the next month lol.

Also, Mirena would have been my first choice but my mother got pregnant with my youngest brother while the mirena was still inside her and she almost lost the baby. I'm sure it was a rare case but it scared me enough to not take the chance.

My ob is thinking the mirena might be best for me but the idea of something up there is kinda iffy to me 😬 @jgruenwald & I'm too overweight for the patch my ob said ☹️️ @ainsleighsmumma & how do you do the ring? She mentioned it but I wasn't sure how you actually do it lol @caffeinechaos

Condoms are a good choice but my husband doesn't really wanna use them lol but it sure would beat messing my fertility up!@riiayala_
