Little lady keeps falling asleep whilst I'm either Breast feeding or using a bottle, but when I take either out of her mouth she starts sucking again and starts to wake up. Is this a comfort thing? My husband said it's dummy behavior but I have no idea about dummys?! Is that a sign she needs one?

@mother_of_humans, yeah that sounds like what she's doing, she goes for a while anyway with out feeds 4-5 hours, our midwife was dead set on us not using a dummy tho 😬
Iv had to give my little one a dummie because she would try sucking on something. She didnt take to it at first but i just kept it in her mouth and now shes much better and is nicer and less stressed in between feeds xx

@sophie94x, ahhhh no! That's awful poor baby and poor you! 😞😞 no I don't think mine has reflux then she spits up after every feed but none of the rest
she is sick after every single feed, even hours after. its a lot of sick, projectile vomiting. the acid in the sick hurts their throat so she screams after being sick. she also cries whilst drinking her milk. i have to change her clothes 4-5 times a day cause of how much sick there is. she arches her back whilst feeding. it is awful 😔 xx
possibly a comfort thing :) when Harvey is crying he settles with a dummy and not a bottle when he's not hungry he just messes with the bottle in his mouth xx I have no idea about reflux though xx
@sophie94x, silly question how did you tell she has reflux? Mine always spits up milk after every feed but she'll still keep drinking and sucking on me or the bottle. Last night was the only night she's done it for that long, we put her down at 9 and she didn't get to sleep until midnight which she doesn't normally do! Every time we turned the light off she cried, and I did everything I could think of to help her but nothing worked until she had the bottle in her mouth 🤔
@rose123610 I've tried that and she just carries on doing it 😩
ill add that she has reflux too so her sucking on milk when she wasnt hungry just made her vomit so the dummy was the best option x
my daughter did this and settled straight away with a dummy x
like it's a comforter to her. 😆 I wouldn't give her a dummy because of this, but just persevere and keep taking it out and putting back in whilst she is feeding x
My oldest was like this and settled straight away with a dummy, he only had it for 3 weeks then he weaned himself off it x
