I've never been scared of nights with my bubs but after nearly 2 weeks of him waking up every 1 hour on the dot I'm starting to go crazy, sleep deprived and dreading night times 😞😢 Being alone all night doesn't help and knowing in the morning I won't get any help as hubs will be sleeping me and I'm even more scared to be sleep deprived

You need to try stop feeling scared as you'll stress yourself and make yourself feel worse. Just take it as it comes, it's all part of the process. Every baby is different, some easy, some a bit harder but every second is worth it so cherish it and try keep a smile on your face. You learn to deal with the lack of sleep, I have and I'm 2 years down the line! x

I'm in exactly the same situation as you, bed times used to be my favorite time of the day but now I dread them because my little one doesn't settle either X try and take advantage of naps during the day as they really help X

@charlotteandharry, i know its stupid. I'm literally awake rn so stressed that if I sleep I'll have to wake again in half an hour/hour and feel disgusting. Unfortunately with lack of sleep I'm just not myself and then baby gets and boring grumpy mummy who can't play and interact and be happy, that's what scares me. @mimibear true, if I can get the morning nap in with him I'm slightly better. Good luck with your little one. Mine was doing this amazing 5 hour sleep then wake every 2 hours and suddenly he's just gone so backwards. I think partly because he's fallen ill its even worse. :(

Those sleepless nights are all part and parcel unfortunately! Take the good with the bad 😘

The first month or so is the hardest but honestly it will get easier. We all have our own ways but for me I found routine really helped settle my boys. In the early weeks though I was up almost hourly with Max & it is draining. Try & stay calm as it does reflect on baby if you get wound up. I would take a minute or 2 to go chill in the bathroom/ cry it out then return with a fresh head again lol

@sara-lou May I ask by what age you set a routine? My LO is 10 weeks and we have a set pattern throughout the day and a bed time routine. But no set schedule. Like its not that definitely he'll be asleep at this time and be in bed by this time because his day time naps last barely 30 mins and are so erratic.

@suzie80 That sounds terrifying! You're an immensely strong mum. I hope they both feel better soon x

I set a bedtime routine from 7weeks but during the day it still varies. I started putting Max to bed in his crib at 8pm & the first week it took him 40mins or so to get to sleep but after a few days he went quicker. After a week or so he was tired by 7pm & he's asleep within minutes. He then started sleeping longer on the night & by 8/9weeks was sleeping through. All babies vary but a bedtime routine really helped Max.
