So I have my an appointment with my new ob/gyn for my pelvic check and birth control. I didn't get on right after I had my son and I was getting on it because of my son's dad but things didn't work out so should I even? My mom keeps telling me not because she thinks I'll become infertile or cause some health issues to me or a future baby. I also don't want to risk it because I don't want to go through what I am now in the future again. So what do y'all think & if so recommend? 🤔

@luuuuuucyyy, my opinion is, if you're not active at the moment why go on BC?@wethreepeas have a great suggestion.

No because I have it in my head that it'll mess with my milk supply lol but I plan to get back on the pill around the time my son turns 1.

Everyone's different, I was on the pill for 6 years and then I started missing pills one month and the next month I found out I was pregnant lol

Wow. I know my mom was on the pill for a while and conceived twice after she was on it and had miscarriages and then got pregnant a few years later again. @wethreepeas

Yeah I have a family friend who it took like almost 10 years to concieve again. was so sad to see her go through that struggle. it took us a while too, this was just from the pill also caused me to gain to much weight and hard to put it off my sister went on the shot and patch different times, that had some long term effects too

Yes. It's been so bad, like I get really sick. But if it has long term effects I would rather suffer a few days. I've never been on any birth control @wethreepeas

@luuuuuucyyy, ohhh to go on it to avoid periods hmm idk what the best option would be, but who knows the long term effects it will have. I know my body has a hard time jumping back after being off any form, and some do just fine.

Wow, that's crazy. That would be perfect for me because I'm going back to school & want to finish before my son starts. I was leaning towards the IUD due to my periods being so bad.
