hi! sorry late response! it took him like a month...ALTHOUGH its suppose to only take at most 2 weeks...and we did everything correct and Asap so idk why it took so damn long...but he did get a lump sum versus a small amount like i did

yeah that's what hubby says too. he pays, but now it seems he won't get it. it's heartbreaking because he was looking forward to it. hmmm, i havent heard of dat here, my nurse just said if hes paying for it the hes getting it. but idk it doesnt seem fair , like the fathers need bonding time also, it actually sucks here un US for maternity leave. we the only country that are limited extremly limited .

the $300 has to be accumulated under SDI on his paycheck, as of right now he only has $150 because he had to stop working for a few months due to illness. state is only looking at July from last year to June from this year. 2015 he only worked July-October and this year June and July. so he may not have the full $300.

why does he need the 300? it shouldnt charge to apply. if on his paystub they take out money under SDI then he automatically qualifies for it. think of it as car insurance he pays for it for when he needs it, or he may not need it ever, but if he does pay for it then he should qualify. just make sure to send in BC with his name on there and have his work sign online with a code he will get from SDI.

@delis619, thanks momma. hubby is applying for it this week. baby is 4 months and he wanted to take the 6 weeks for the holidays. he would apply tomorrow, but the is the issue that he may not have the $300 in SDI as the website states.

he has to apply at leaset one day after ur cub is born. then it will take about a week. at least in Cali. also, make sure you have all paperwork ready for when they ask if you yet to submit, his work and the bonding leave will ask for it.
