Day 4 of potty training & things are going great! Less accidents than I expect to be honest. But, he has only went to the potty himself a few times, other than that I have to ask him if he has to go, then he will head to the bathroom. If I accidentally wait too long, that's when the accidents happen. I don't know if he doesn't realize he can't just "go" whenever because he doesn't have diapers on anymore, or if he just gets distracted from playing/watching cartoons that he doesn't want to go lol. So my question is, will he eventually realize he needs to go on his on & how long until that will be?
Also, he doesn't get the concept that he has to poop on the potty & since it's not at predictable as pee I can't remind him to go. Is this normal for pooping in the potty to be delayed?
Sorry I'm asking so many questions, this is my first time potty training & I'm kinda in the dark with it all.
my son is also 3y and having 'issues' as well.. he can pee on the potty all day long but pooping is still a prob.. I've been trying to explain to him that his tummy will feel funny and that it's telling him to go on the potty.. we've come a long way but still a ways to go.. just keep doing what you're doing and eventually all will work out! as everyone keeps telling me "no ones ever gone to college in diapers" lol
@rebalouise, my son is 3yr old and I'm having the Same problems. his 2yr old sister tells me she has to go and has been doing both on the potty for about a week now with no accidents. we just bought her her first pair of underwear yesterday. she's not sure if she likes them yet.
@poozie813445 You are right! I keeping thinking "omg he's never going to get it 100%, we'll always have accidents!" But I need to remember that he'll eventually get it! Like you said, no one has gone to college in diapers lol
