Hi guys! So I have a question. This is my first pregnancy and I would like to solely breastfeed. Any tips? I want to go in feeling confident and sure of myself so that I don't let my baby down by not being able to produce, feeling frustrated, making it difficult for him, etc. help please! :)
Know that breastfeeding is challenging, but also it is beyond rewarding. I am 9 months exclusively breastfeeding. When my son was 9 days old I developed mastitis from being so engorged, which leads me to another point, MAKE SURE YOU PUMP. lol I really can't stress that enough. It doesn't matter if you plan to use the milk you pump in a bottle or not, you can easily freeze it. Stock up in nipple butter, nursing pads, and breast milk storage bags. I suggest buying the kiinde twist system. It's a pump and feed system. I've been using it since my son was first born and we love it! Most importantly, don't freak out in the first few days if you feel like you're not producing enough or baby isn't satisfied, just know that baby will pretty much be on the boob or sleeping the first week. During growth spurts your baby may cluster feed, it's totally normal. So again, don't think that baby isn't getting enough! I see too many moms quit for that reason and I hate it for them. People say to be careful about nipple confusion (introducing bottles or pacifiers early on) which I completely disagree with. My son took bottles fine, boob fine, and pacifier fine. Even at 2 weeks old when I was forced to strictly pump while I got over having mastitis and thrush in my breasts. Make sure you keep your pump parts and bottles sterile and clean after each use! It's a lot of work, but just try to always remind yourself that you are keeping this human alive with your body and it's such a beautiful bonding experience! Sorry I wrote a book 😊
and don't get frustrated if it doesn't happen right off the rip it may take a few tries to get your baby to latch
Feed baby on demand. Soothing gel pads. Cluster feeding is normal. As my mom always told me "put that baby to the breast!" Lol
make sure you tell the nursery when you have a child that you strictly want to breastfeed they ruined my experience my daughter wouldn't latch and they gave her bottles in the nursery

So I keep feeling these lil sharp pains on my right side. You do get pains like that before you start your period right.? Remember I had that dark brown spotting for a few hours last month on the 22. My period suppose to start today.
Oh and stay hydrated!
