We've had 2 very successful days of potty training, minus a few accidents which is expected. But today we're having our Thanksgiving dinner with family & I'm so nervous about how we're going to make this work. I refuse to put a diaper back on him & ruin all the progress we've made, but I'm also afraid with all the excitement with all of our family here he won't go to the potty. Ugh, wish us luck! 🙄
no he doesn't do any of that unfortunately, he fights diaper changes sometimes @rebalouise
@mommy763, he just turned 2 at the end of Sept. Just look for readiness signs, like does he say pee or poop whenever he goes? Does he try to take his diaper off if he's gone to the bathroom in it?
how old is your son? I am trying to decide if I should start with mine his 2 years and 8 months @rebalouise
Thank you ladies!! @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom @firsttimegypsymama I think this is more stressing me out than him lol. I just need to remember that accidents are expect & to not get discouraged
@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom yeah I set a timer on my phone for every 45 mins & take him to potty, then reset it. I don't give huge rewards, just stickers on a piece of paper that hangs on the fridge but omg he loves it! Haha and if he poops (which he hasn't yet on the potty 😕) he gets a small dum dum sucker
Good luck! Just remember to ask him frequently if he has to go potty. I was against treat rewards but it really helped get my son potty trained so just make sure you give him praise and reward him somehow.
@mommy763, Every child is different! Don't get discouraged. You could always try it for a couple days & if it don't work, wait a month or two & try again! :)
