I requested to have the TDAP shot administered at both hospitals I was admitted at and neither one…

I was discharged and never even got it either!!

I received the TDAP & the Flu Shot at the same time when I was 28 weeks. Is there a reason why you didn't get it before now @christimary0

@nolans1stlove, I wasn't going to get flu and I wasn't originally going to get TDAP either because I'm so young that I'm still currently up to date and I didn't think it was necessary. But when I went into preterm labor I got nervous for my little baby and requested it at both hospitals but neither seemed to really worry about it.

I got mine after birth.

@christimary0, The reason why it is important to get the TDap is because it protects the baby against whopping cough. The baby cannot get that vaccine until they are 2 months old, so by you getting that vaccine while pregnant it goes straight to the baby.

@rainbowbabym, yeah i didn't realize that! My doctor never really talked to me about it. Just asked if I was planning on getting it but didn't make it seem important. Then I hit preterm labor and kept asking and still never got it ):

@christimary0, Whopping cough can be really harmful to baby if they were to be exposed to it. Also it was my doctors recommendation that people that come in close contact with the baby in the beginning should be up to date on their TDap shot.

@rainbowbabym, i guess they don't see many cases over here in this area so the doctors don't really bring it up much. But now I'm freaking out for my baby! He needs to stay inside of me where it's safe. He's going to end up in the house with me for 2 months with no visitors if it's too late to get it.
