got a question ladies:

i have a job right now at a daycare my child has free day care and i get paid 10 an hour

i have a job interview tomorrow for a nanny job that pays 20 an hour and i would have to put my child in a daycare 4 days a week and have one full day off with my baby.

my question is should i keep my job that pays less and have free child care or take the job that pay alot more and pay 800 hundredth for daycare?

i dont get holiday pay or vacation pay or sick days or health insurance nothing @cookiemonster1216 ohhh haha no not 800 hundredth a month i think weekly its 225 or 180 a week i dont remember what the paper said. well weekly i fill up about 30 dollars in my car 120 a month in gas about the same drive to the nanny job. wow yeah i cant afford 1200 a month for daycare. my husband has a pretty good job and insurance and everything.

@ainsleighsmumma i honestly not caring about the taxes right now!

Ohhh! I thought you meant $800 a week! That's for a month. LOL ok. That makes more sense. Where I am day care is roughly $300 a week, so around $1200 a month... so I'm so grateful my MIL watches my dd LOL. But also consider any benefits you'll have with a new job vs what you have currently. A friend of mine works at a daycare and has insurance, paid vacation, sick days, etc. A parent probably wouldn't have those benefits (idk if you currently do, but I'm just going off of estimates.) And calculate gas difference.

@mommytoveralang, but you wouldn't actually be making that much because of tax deductions, a higher tax bracket means more deductions.

okay so right now i work 40 hours a week 10 dollars an hour. less then 400 hundredth a week. roughly 1200 hundredth a month and free child care

with the new job i would make 2800 hundredth a month and 800 hundredth for childcare so im still makeing 2000 after paying child care i would work 45+ hours a week i wouldn't work weekends or Tuesday @cookiemonster1216

@mandabug iam not aloud in my daughters classroom the company dosent think its fair to the children.

Honestly, you wouldn't make enough to cover the childcare and come out ahead. $10(8x6) = $480. (I calculated $10 extra dollars per hour (8hrs), then multiply that by six days a week.) That's roughly how much more you'd make a week. And you would be put in a higher tax bracket, which means you'd get more deducted out of your check. Personally, I'd stick with the free child care. it makes more sense to me.

I would do the math and see what will get you more in the long run. If you're spending that much on child care would you really be making all that much more than you are now?

yeah when you think about it in the long run it all evens out but I would go with the free child care cuz at least you get to be with your baby

Ok I have a question

If your child is doing 100% remote learning are you the parent staying home or are you sending them to daycare to do remote learning ??

scruffy.nerf.herder So what is a working parent supposed to do? Many don’t have the option to work from
jessicalaneee I'm staying home but working from home. It's tough. Hes doing virtual but at our own pace
ekko Many daycares in our area refuse to help with virtual learning if the parents are choosing to

I have a question ... will I still be able to get free child care like day care if I don't put my child's father on child support ? I know I won't get food stamps and medicaid for myself if I don't put him on it . I'm in the state of Florida .

sherrynygirl check around many places offer help for daycare especially if its a smaller daycare .or use an
sherrynygirl you don't have to have an open child support case, they ask if u want to go
armani711 I used to live in Jacksonville and my sisters are both gettin food stamps and their bd's
