How do doctors check if you are effaced? I got checked for dilation tuesday but he said my cervix was closed he didnt say if I was effaced or not. I'm a first time mom & first pregnancy so don't judge lmaooo

Effacement is how thick the cervix is. You can be dilated 0cm but be effaced and visa versa

your cervix being closed means 0% they check the same time they check for dilation.
