Did anyone successfully induce labor before 40 wks? And what did you do?
They put a tiny tablet in your cervix every four hours I think until it starts to dilate and you go into labor. The labor is intense. The contractions start strong and fast. Within an hour of labor starting I was having contractions that had me in tears every time and they were coming so close, I was only getting about 30-60 seconds rest between them. It took a long time too, I labored for over 24 hours. I wouldn't recommend it. But they'll only do it that way if you're overdue and your cervix has no intention of opening.
I didn't dilate at all and had to be induced with cervidil... it sucked
@happy2haveu, that's how I was! Just try and do as much walking and stuff as you can! And bounce on your birthing ball as much as you can! And I just realized we live in the same city!!
@arianaserenaa Okay thanks so much... I gotta pray that I dilate. I can't wait till she pops out I having the hardest time just walking around.
@happy2haveu, you're fine! I like answering them lol and no they didn't do anything for me and I went in on my due date and was only 1cm
@arianaserenaa, Sorry for all these questions but will they do something for you if its on your due date?
@happy2haveu, you have to be at least 4cm. And unless you go over your due date then won't due anything
@arianaserenaa Okay so they can't really do anything for you before you dilate. How much do you need to dilate before they admitt you?
@happy2haveu, they started checking me for dilation at 36 weeks and I was never dilated 😕 I started having contractions the night before my due date so on my due date I went to labor and delivery and I got checked and I was in labor but only 1cm dilated so they couldn't keep me. That night at 2am I went into active labor and by the time I got to labor and delivery with my contractions and everything I was at 4cm so they admitted me.
@arianaserenaa, so do they usually just call you in the see how much you've dilated and send you back home? Idk why but my two friend had their water broken for them. I heard its extremely painful but I think it mught be just worth it :( lol pregnancy fears.
@bri28, yeah I know! I've heard insane to put into the body like that.
I did I ate tons of pineapples did squats and went swinging on the swings at the neighborhood park.
I went into labor 40weeks and 1 day. And had my daughter 40 weeks and 2 days. I got lucky because they were gonna induce me that week and I just happened to go into labor
I don't believe there is anything that will successfully get labor going. What works for some, doesn't work for others. If your body isn't ready yet for labor, you can try all you want. Trust me, been there twice lol. But whatever u try to do, please please do NOT use castor oil! No matter what anyone else is telling you! It could turn out really bad and in some cases life threatening to your baby
