my little boys just gone 3 months and I'm allready worrying about how I'm going to afford childcare fees at the moment me and my boyfriend aren't entitled tax credits cos of his wage and If I go back full time I'd be working to basically pay all my wage back out in childcare fees cos I'm on a shit wage. What's the point in even working??! and they wonder why mums can't afford to go back to work £850 a month childcare fees absolute piss take when I only earn £970 a month working full time

I could take my son to the nursery I work at but to be honest I don't want too. I much prefer one closer to home on the street behind mine it's amazing they take them to the library, parks baby groups etc plus they have a baby gym with ball pool, toddler size treadmills and expertise bikes plus a role play room with wooden castle and house and a dedicated sensory room with lights, lava lamps and music etc the babies have their own cot to sleep in too as it's a small placed unit @sara-lou it's £42 a day but it's such a good nursery

Yeh same nursery nurse wages are quite low. I knew that before I got into it but I've always loved working with children. Maybe look into nurseries where you could take your son. It worked really well for Morgan & me. Was easier going back to work having him so close lol. I just hope they can give me a super deal with Max so I can go back next year. Otherwise they'll be no financial way to go back to work.

I'm a senior nursery nurse in a baby unit @saso I know exactly how it is for you I'm. open to looking at new job options that are better paid but what that is the question I enjoy my job working with babies but she pays me 10p more then minimum wage for senior with 10yrs experience it's a joke x

What are you trained in? Are you open to do anything new? I'm a nursery nurse & the only reason I went back to work was because I found a nursery I could work & take Morgan to. I get discount so I still took home some extra money. Not loads but enough to use for days out & to treat ourselves now & then. I don't know if I'll be able to go back now we have Max as well though as I'll be paying double child care! I always thought I'd wanna be a stay at home Mum but Morgan is such a physical, social boy there's only so much I can do with him when I'm not working. He loves nursery so I hope I can keep him there!
