I had a very fast natural birth. 2 hours of labor, then 20 minutes of pushing. I arrived at the hospital at 10cm and had to wait until my doctor arrived to push. As far as the pain goes, it was intense, but I was focused and determined. Our bodies are made for this!

just breathe through your contractions. zone everyone out. I didn't do this for my first but did it all natural. with my 2nd I labored 90% at home , i tool as many showers as i felt i needed and was able to be in any position i wanted and walked in at 9cm.. I became very nervous thinking about my son at home and knowing what to expect and I opted for the epidural. which wasaa perfect for me at the moment 3 pushes in 10 min and my daughter was here.. both I labored for 9 hours..

Couldn't sit on a normal surface because of the pain so bounced on a yoga ball! Idk if it's an option for you but u labored in a big tub and it took A LOT of the pain away. I also pushed standing up and had my baby standing up into the midwives hands! Something about laying/sitting down did not appease me! I ate honey sticks (read about them) and drank water and coconut water, and 19 hours later had my big 9lb baby all natural! Use essential oils as well!! Lavender and clary sage 🙂 oh!! And to prevent tearing, start rubbing coconut oil on your perineum to give it elasticity! I didn't tear at all!! Good luck!!

@doubleksmommy, when the contraction was coming but not quite there yes the nipple stimulation would help a lot to make my body progress it brought on more pain which is what I wanted the other lady that commented about thinking of the stages of ur baby when ur body is progressing is very smart if u study about the anatomy of ur body and how it's all suppose to work u can recognize those points during labor to know how ur body is doing. I had no monitors attached they couldn't keep me still they would come in every 30 min and check baby with monitor I kept asking my nurse tell me when my body has hit the stage 3 please tell me. But it was really when they made me lay down I realized on my own it was getting time that was at 7 I wanted to give up but I made my husband promise me that if I dilated to 6 with nothing to not let me give in bc 6 was over half way done. From7-9 was the hardest but didn't last to long thank god. I labored in pain 5 hours at home and 19at the hospital I was only dilated to 1 when I arrived but within 3 hrs my body was at 4 just with the walking and nipple stimulation then they broke my water and I progressed at a good rate but not much walking after its more about ur mindset. Recovery was great I did have one pain pill each night in hospital after baby was born only bc it was more to help me sleep bc I had my husband to care for baby he would just wake me to feed baby. I might mention to help with tearing think about the approach one step forward 2 steps back ( I learned that from business of being born same movie other lady recommended u need to watch there is actually 2 one is a documentary and other is a series) anyways on the pushing that's how it should be which will help u recover and not tear I had no tears and my dr performed the massage for me as a midwife would do but ur dr needs to know all this in advance bc most dr do t believe it that stuff it more natural approach she even had me stop pushing and held baby in for a brief moment at crowning my husband said it lasted about 5 mins he could see baby's head and I was resting and having ice during crowning u can do this girl think of all the women before u that have did it u don't need med ur made for giving birth literally

@woahmama, I didn't ask permission. I just did. I looked at the nurse when she gave me a look and handed her the goody bags I prepared for them. It was a good distraction. I think being knowledgeable of the birthing process allows you to remain assertive and make sound arguments of why exactly you want to do what you would like.

@doubleksmommy, it's amazing! its basically mind over matter. It gives you confidence this is what you are made to do! I did it with my first as well. You do not use the term "pain" rather you look at every contraction as progress. You visualize your body's progression and your baby at each stage. I highly recommend it to moms who may have some level of anxiety of labor. Look it up on YouTube

@woahmama, maybe it was because I was so assertive when it came down to what I wanted during labor but I ate anything I wanted hahaha I brought in food and ate famous Daves between contractions before they got too terrible. I didn't eat during my first labor and was passing out constantly.

Definitely...if your doing it in a hospital they probably will only let you do ice chips juat in case they need to do a emergency c-section. but at home or at a center they allow you to have fruits, coconut water (electrolytes), popsicles in case you getvtired of water and need to uo your sugar and other snacks too

@txyogagirl, omg thank you so much!! makes me feel a lot better and the hopes I can do it! how many cm were u dilated when u got admitted to the hospital? I'll definitely use a yoga ball and walk around. did the nipple stimulation help a lot? how was the recovery after birth?

Also a spinal block only last 90 minutes! I let myself labor down until it wore off and then pushed! I felt the whole pushing and delivery process

I walked and did yoga. I also did hypnobirthing. I loved it! i stayed at home for the most part. i did some zumba even! However my labor kept stalling. i went into labor and delivery every day and progressed more and more every day. my contractions were every 2-3 minutes and strong but my labor kept stopping. finally my water broke and my contractions did not feel right at this point. they nevee let up! But my body stopped progressing so my doctor suggested i try meds. she explained that sometimes when the body is stressed it stops working with labor so meds can help you relax. i reluctantly agreed because i was no in agony and the moment I had a spinal block (could still walk and feel my legs) I went from 6 to a 10 in half an hour! I was in labor from Monday to Friday...but when I medicated my body finally let go enough for me to deliver a healthy beautiful baby! keep an open mind when it comes to labor. I wanted my both of my labors to be unmedicated but needed different types for different reasons each time.

Ladies u can do it. I did it it's really not that bad. First think like this well b4 u got preg u could only imagine how bad the pain would be but in reality God made our body amazing and he made us to handle it to be capable of the pain we were made to reproduce and I feel it's our duty to do just that. Pain is part of it. If it was easy God would have made men have babies but he didn't he made strong women. Now for the details. 1.focal point (I used a pic of my husband as a boy what I imagined our son to look like) 2. A really good coach that actually knows how the women's body will contract and the process of labor(mine was my husband and we attended 3 labor classes more like anatomy of a women) 3. Walk walk walk when u feel more pain from contraction don't try to ease it and stop it do what makes it more intense which is to breath pause and continue to walk I also would do nipple stimulation while I was walking but wasn't able to continue that during contraction bc pain was to intense 4. For me it was to not sit down bed is worst position for labor (read about it online) I stood for almost 20 hr of labor with each contraction I sit on the yoga ball and let the water gush then rocked from side to side at the next contraction stay on ball and when it's so intense stand to ur feet key is different positions and movements then once I was so far along and had flooded the floor for 20 hr they requested I get in the bed I hated it I wanted to give up but at that point I just switched from side to side with each contraction never staying still I used the peanut ball if u have a good nurse she can position u correct but how I got relief was if my left leg was on peanut I would almost throw my right leg backwards when it was so intense this would also produce the same water gush I was getting from standing just a little different and last well the push was the easy part and felt so good but practice ur breathing hold ur breath on the out and act like ur taking a poop sorry this so long but it was all truly perfect. Might I mention I plan to read orgasmic birth before my next child also plan to have a birthing center not a hospital and most important don't initial the boxes for meds they was about 10 boxes I only signed off for 2 which was blood transfusion in case of emergency and a line to have a iv port neither was ever used and most important 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

How come theres no group for birth/labour experiences? As a first time mom, I want to know your stories!

I want to have a natural birth, at home. Preferably in a birth pool.

Tell me about yours!
