When did you mamas finally feel okay to go out for a night with friends after having a baby ? My baby is 7 weeks old and I'm craving some me time but don't know if daddy will be able to handle her and my toddler alone all night

I mean he's the father he needs to learn how to deal with both of his kids together & alone. You won't always be there so you go out have some fun time besides you deserve too 😊

i waited 6 weeks. and i did baby steps. go down the road for milk, grocery shop bc it's harder than it seems. I did it once every 2 weeks. then when he was around 6 month I let his spend a night, with my sister. I don't party or drink or really spend time with friends. it was usually just for shopping, or id get my hair done or nails. the over night was so we could take the other kids to the driveins. it was nice. I kept texting and calling to check on him, but it was nice.

I left my son with my sister for 3 hours for the first time when he was 3 months old. I left him with my mom overnight for one night when he was 6 months old. 😊

I need to add I'm a military spouse, so I don't have anyone close to watch my son for me to go out, so that played a factor in it too!

@gabbymommy, yea he's the father but he's not me she's still young reason why I'm hesitant if she was a little older I'd feel a lot more comfortable. He tells me he can handle it but I'm just over baring I can't lie

When my son was 6 months I went out for 2 hours for my 21st birthday but I didn't really feel like I needed a break. Now I'm really really feeling like I'm going crazy and need a break. Its so important that you take sometime for yourself if you feel you do. Because you could just get so frustrated and stressed. I'm so extremely stressed right now because I haven't had any time alone for more than 6 months so this weekend my fiance and I are going on a date. Take time for yourself, its so important. Taking time for yourself when you need it really helps you to be a better mom so that you aren't stressed out all the time when you are with your kids. Hope this helps! 💛

@allyk.xmommy, I agree with you. Start small and see how well he does. Go to the corner market or go fill up your tank while he's there or pick up dinner. Each time take a little longer. I left once with my first daughter to get groceries when she was a couple weeks old and when I arrived home my (ex) husband was feeding her and the bottle was in her ear because he was watching football. 🙄 he was a good dad but I didn't leave him alone with her very long after that. By my second child he was a little more practiced and I was stressed having two small children so he'd tell me to leave often to get some fresh air. I would simply go buy me makeup, an outfit, or even grab a milkshake and come home. It def helped. My husband now... I know he'll be a great father. It's all he's ever wanted to be. Of course, I'll see how well he does before I leave but I totally trust him...... as long as he has active phone service and I'm within miles of home. 😂😂😂

Oh and I think when they're toddlers it's scarier to leave them with anyone else. They get into so many things. Take your time now while she's too little to put things in her mouth or open doors. 😊
