So I've read that first time moms rarely get actual contractions(period like cramping along with back pain) before going into labor and happen for women who have had kids before. my bfs cousins wife hasn't felt anything at all she's also going to be a ftm and about a week before me but I'm also a ftm mom and getting contractions already along with Braxton hicks and everything else. I also get hip pain where I feel like I can feel them being pulled apart and widening. Anyone else ftm and feel that to?

I wouldn't believe that. I am a FTM and had an irritable uterus so I had contractions from 33 w. The doctor told me it's good, your body is practicing and knows what to do when the time comes. I progressed all by myself. Everyone is different

@bonniesue, That's so true! articles don't know what they are talking about anymore lol I was like how can every ftm not feel anything until labor. like you said every body works differently the only thing that sucks is every time I get contractions I'm like is this it?! and then after 30 minutes its like nope... lol

true everyone's different but whatever youre going through right now is normal

@kambam, yeah i know its just my body prepping everything but at the same time I feel like I won't know if I'm going into actual labor or not lmao

Yeah I'd have to disagree, you may not feel Braxton hicks as a first time mom or you may and not realize it because you don't know what they feel like. But As far as contractions like real ones go, every mom will feel those when in labor

Soon it will be your time! The best thing is to time them or wait for your bloody show (I had to wait until my bloody show to be sure it was real) . I was told by doctors "when you can't talk through them you're in labor" guess what I was laughing and joking and happy right up to when I had to push. So 😜 to them lol.

@kayla93, yes that's true to like for me I feel both quite a bit everyday. His cousins wife said she couldn't feel any contractions but felt some of the Braxton hicks. its so crazy how everyone's body reacts to things different but also awesome everyone has their own journey.
Aylenrose·
@bonniesue, omg haha you go girl! I hope I can do the same but I feel like ill be freaking out because it will be happening. I want to be tough when I do and try to breathe and push through it but ill probably be a big baby lol!

@bonniesue, I don't know why people say you can't talk through them, they definitely took my breathe away but I was able to talk I just sounded winded, but I preferred not to talk and just focus on breathing lol
@aylenrose It is crazy how different everyone is and no one pregnancy is the same, even your own. I'm on my 2nd and it's so different than my first

@kayla93, @aylenrose I was watching Netflix and had to put away my phone when the nurse said I could start pushing lol. Its crazy how labors can be all so different! Just like every child is different! If you need a c section or an epidural or you have a home birth or hospital birth it's all great as long as you and baby are healthy. I don't believe in a one size fits all experience

@bonniesue, very well said!

@bonniesue, yup that's the goal is for everyone to be happy and healthy at the end. lol I love your story so much I can imagine you laying there like excuse me nurse yeah I can't push yet my episode isn't done yet. lol love it! @kayla93 I know this pregnancy has been rough for me my first trimester was the worst and I still didn't feel great the whole rest of it and now its worse with the contractions and throwing up again and just feeling done lol hopefully my second will be easier!
