So I'm 39 weeks and 2 days. My mom has been asking my doctor if I'll likely be induced and my mom is insisting to my doctor that she know the date for it if I am. I am requesting that my mom no longer have access to my medical information. I've told my family repeatedly that I don't want people at the hospital during delivery other than my boyfriend. I want us to have time to bond with my baby before we have anyone bombard us. I'm the youngest daughter out of 4 girls and feel like there's so much expectation and pressure on me. Am I wrong to tell them no and to request that they not be aloud until I give permission?

Why does your mom have access to your medical info anyways?

When I found out about my pregnancy back in March, I told the biological father and he walked out. I felt like my mom was the only person I had until my boyfriend and I got together. So at that time I gave permission for her to have access to it. Since then my mom and dad have literally harassed me and my doctor about everything and I can't take it anymore. I've asked them both repeatedly to respect my decisions and they won't. To them I'm still their baby, and I have never really denied my parents of anything. Its hard for me to tell them no even now because of their expectations.

and just so it's clear my boyfriend and I have agreed that we are going to go through the process legally for him to be her father. as long as things work out in the long run

@1xmom, you can tell your nurse/midwife your decision to have them wait in the waiting room. They may be mad but I guarantee you'll be left alone

Don't worry, and don't stress, just do what works best! 😃

when i was filling out my paperwork at the dr. when i found out i was pregnant i debated it for a while and finally decided not to put my mother down for access to my records because she would do the same thing. we also told the hospital not to give any info out because we didn't want anyone there until he was born, we didn't call anyone and tell them i was in labor we waited until he was born so that we would be left alone to have bonding time as a family. lol

Nope. I told everyone in my family that no one will be in delivery but my husband and I. And we will NOT have visitors for the first few hours. I want skin to skin, the first feeding, and for my husband and I to have time with him before he gets passed around like a hot potato. My bio mom was not happy (she expected to be in the delivery room 🙄🙄 not sure why she would have though that) and I told her tough. This is my family and my delivery. No one will dictate to me how and who. Period. So don't feel bad.
