Any other ladies have their doctor make them do a blood glucose in early pregnancy to check for pre existing diabetes? Like they made me do it with Sofia and then again at 27 weeks but I didn't realize they don't do that for everyone... so I have an appointment tomorrow and they want me to do it again tomorrow. Am I allowed to say no? They took blood at my last appointment and I really just don't want to do this tomorrow. Can I tell them that I'll just wait til 27 weeks to check for gestational diabetes?

They are wanting you to do it now because you are plus size just like they did to me. I showed no signs at all what so ever and ended up failing. Miscarriage rates go up higher with people with GD. Just take the test get it over with so they can see if they have to keep an close eye on baby.
You should do the test. It's best for you and your baby just to be safe. It's better to catch something early then later. It doesn't matter if you don't think you have any other symptoms. Most women with GD have no symptoms or very few. I hope you take the test. The doctor isn't trying to waste your time or anything they just want to keep you healthy. :)

@beebaby, they make everyone else wait until 27 weeks? So why should I have to take one at 12 weeks?
I took the 1 hour glucose test at 15 weeks due to family history/weight then again at 28 weeks. I passed both. I was okay with it only because I want what's best for baby.
