When do they start checking for dialation at your prenatal appointments? or do they? I'll be 35 weeks, 2 days at my next…

I thought they started at 35w. Mine said they won't start till 38w (but have also said 37w)... so I'm kinda confused. Gunna just count on 38w since I've heard them say diff things so far 🤔

My doctor started at 36 weeks

I thought it was 35 too, but I dont remember getting checked at all when I was pregnant with my first, I had him at exactly 37 weeks. So maybe it is 38..

So annoying .. I see a team of 3 docs and they each say something different

I'm 37 weeks 4 days & I haven't been checked at an appointment yet . Only when I went to the hospital for false labor Halloween night

@teeeeeee, they checked me for dilation when i went into l&d a few days before Halloween , and gave me a shot to stop contractions, so I've been worried about dialating and going into prererm labor.

I'm 34 weeks too. I was hospitalized for a day for pre-term labor and was checked a couple times and got the steroid shots for lung maturation and also contraction stopping meds. They just said that at my OB appointments if I've been feeling contractions again they will check but not till 38 if he makes it that long

@babymaciesmomma, dang, I was kind of hoping they would check so I could stop worrying so much.

Have you been having more contractions or feeling downward pressure? I was curious with my daughter at 37 weeks and I said I was feeling downward pressure and they said they'd check if I wanted them to. Can't hurt to ask, cervical checks don't cause dilation or contractions if there aren't any happening.

I've been feeling like contractions ocasionally but I think they are just BH because they arent painful. they just make my stomach super hard.

BH can still cause dilation though, so just say you've felt contractions and that you'd like to be checked
