it gets easier after about a month or two. go to Wal-Mart and get some gel nipple pads. they go in the fridge and that feel heavenly on sore nipples
It only does in the beginning and it could be from sore nipples or a bad latch but it does get better and eventually you won't feel a thing after your nipples get used to it but in the beginning it is a bit painful my nipples had started to bleed! But I stuck with it and now I've been EBF for 8 months. Hang in there mama

usually if your in pain when he latches because it shouldn't hurt but if they are already sore it'll be hard to tell. did they tell you how to latch him on? like put your nipple to his mouth in between his lip and nose? you can also try different feeding positions my daughter wouldn't latch right in a regular position so I had to do the football hold position for a while and she latched perfectly that way so maybe you can try that and see if it works but other than sore nipples it shouldn't hurt when latching properly
