I use coconut oil when I pump but after I need something a little thicker. It's easier to spread it on if you open and close your fingers a couple of times

Yes it does. My daughter wouldn't latch after I used the Lansinoh one because it was so thick and hard to wipe off but the coconut oil didn't cause any problems. It was also less painful for me to put on since its not thick.
