I have a question. My son has a lactose allergy and we give him lactose free whole milk the great value brand. We'll his WIC benefits finally kicked in and they gave him Lactaid which I was happy about because I heard its a good brand. We'll he has been super fussy, gassy, and has a bad rash his butt since we switched him from off brand to name brand. He also has very smelly poop almost like dead fish. It's literally the same thing just different brand. I am super confused. He wakes up screaming because of the gas I can literally hear it in his belly. Could the brand of milk be causing this? Should we switch him over to almond milk instead? He's seeing his doctor next week I just want some opinions. Thank you.

it could just be from the sudden switch from one brand to another. at the daycare I work at we have quite a few children with lactose intolerance, and we provide the milk they need, we actually get the Walmart brand as well! but I know one of the kids doesn't take well to it, so she has to drink lactaid, which is just the reverse of your situation! i would definitely see what the doctor says, hope this helps!

I think if he was already drinking lactose free milk it wouldn't be the milk? I get lactaid from wic too and I've found it to be really good. obviously I'm not a baby, but I wouldn't think a brand chance would be the thing causing it? (I could have no idea what I'm talking about tho lol)

@sawyersmomma, maybe that's the problem. the wic covers the great value maybe we'll just put him back on that one.

@jsco, that's what I thought too. it's literally the same thing. he's eating everything he normally eats so that's the only different thing.

Maybe compare the back of the containers and see if they have something different in them? I have no idea hah I feel like I'm going to be so clueless as a mom 😂
