I don't have an answer to your question but honestly the epidural isn't bad at all. When they were doing it, it felt like a lot of pressure on my spine, slightly uncomfortable at first but so easy and so worth it.

You have to ask your hospital but my hospital does morphine through an IV (let me just say that this did not work for me at all) laughing gas, an epidural, and a spinal tap(I think that's what it is called? it's for when the epidural won't take or if someone has a very crooked back. but it's usually only used for c section) and then there's the all natural way.

Epidurals seem scarier than they are. Hardest part is not moving while they do it because contractions make you want to flinch

@ladyfrias95, you have to talk to your birthing center, exactly what @martinajjones said... it depends about making everyone leave... my last they made everyone leave with my other two they let me have one support person... these are all questions you should write down for your hospital tour

I would really encourage you to take a child birthing class in your last trimester. They teach you ALL about this kind of stuff and it's super informational. I found it to be empowering. Just remember, your body was built for this. When your time comes, you'll rock it! 😘❤️👍🏼

I got iv meds and epi with my first, my SO didn't have to leave the room. The iv meds did nothing. The epi wasn't that bad, you feel it but only for a few seconds. This time I went natural and used hypnobirthing. Great method if you're trying to go med free. I labored at home until 9cm (not intentionally, it was just really effective and my midwife kept thinking I had more time lol). If I had another I'd go natural again, the labor and recovery was SO quick

I had gas it worked for a few hours but after I stopped dilating it kind of stopped helping me and he pain kept getting worse so I ended up getting the epidural
