For 2 days when I was waiting for my waters to be broken my contractions were coming every 2-3 minutes I paced there corridor for 2 days than finally they took me down to delivery, I was 5cm dilated once I was put on the hormone drip within 20 minutes I had reached 10cm .. the contractions were thick and fast Id say every 15 seconds.. Basically what I am saying is u can go from 2cm to 8 really quickly or it could go slow all depends on baby and situation Goodluck fingers crossed you will have bubba in your arms real soon x

@mummy1984 Oh wow that's super fast! My younger sister is my mums 3rd...and she was born in 10 mins from arriving at the hospital....I'm her second...I arrived within an hour from her being admitted...My labour was over 24 hours though....I was in slow labour for a long time....I was supposed to be induced due to my waters breaking...but they gave me a sweep and I went into active labour...1cm-8cms in an hour.... other 2cms took a further few hours though xxx

The hospital told me the same thing @winterbaby95 but after I explained I have had kids before and I knew she was coming soon they took me in and I got to the hospital and 40 minutes later Kiki was born

@mummy1984 Yeah I know....mine were irregular too...but some people do have regular contractions....Plus usually hospitals wont see you until they are at least somewhat close to regular contractions.... I was sent home when my waters broke and that's what the midwife told me. When I was in active labour...my contractions were coming every minute (until 8-10cms) then I had 3 within 10 mins (just like a midwife told me)

I'm afraid to say @winterbaby95 I never went textbook with any of my kids my contractions were so irregular and they were right up until they were born the worst advice anyone could give is go by textbook as baby could come at anytime whether your contractions are textbook or not

Could be @kirstysjroberts!! My contractions were all over the place even while I was in labour! Have you had your 'show'?

True contractions are 60 seconds long...and 2-3 mins apart :) so not far from it hun xxxx
